Developers have spent the last couple of years tweaking websites for smaller screens using “responsive” design techniques. But screen size is not the only way to adapt experiences for mobile screens.<\/p>\n

“When we talk about creating a responsive experience \u2026 to deliver mobile use the same experience they would have on the desktop \u2026 how can they be more responsive based on the connection speed?,” asks\u00a0Adaptive Media<\/a> sales and business development head Nick Lynch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We are focused on building the (video)\u00a0player that also identifies the connection speed\u2026 that\u2019s going to be really important in terms of responsiveness.”<\/p>\n

The company employs around 60 people in\u00a0Irvine, California.\u00a0Just don’t ask Lynch to comment on one hackneyed old mobile industry buzzphrase: “I\u2019ve heard it before – \u2018this year is the mobile\u2019, \u2018next year is the year of mobile\u2019.\u00a0Mobile is just going to continue to grow, so every year is going to be the year of mobile.”<\/p>\n
