For many first generation immigrants, assimilation into mainstream society is a top priority.\u00a0 \u00a0For Nancy Reyes<\/a>, the daughter of an El Salvadorian mother, it was a necessity borne out of fear of\u00a0 immigration enforcement and deportation.<\/p>\n Having fully assimilated, the Harvard-educated ad executive eventually found that reconnecting with her “authentic self” was important in her life.\u00a0 And, it has been essential in her\u00a0 career, leading to her role as president of the New York office of Omnicom creative shop TBWA\/Chiat\/Day.<\/p>\n Interviewing Reyes is Rita Ferro<\/a>, who credits her identity as a Latina, with her own success.
